5 Easy Ways to Elevate Your Wedding Invitations

Planning a wedding can be overwhelming and when you have a million things on your to-do list, it is easy to go with the first thing you find.  Often your invitations will pay the price. Luckily there are some easy ways to elevate your wedding invitations!

Your save-the-dates and invitations are the first things your guest sees and sets the tone for the entire event.  You might have the most beautiful wedding day planned, but if your invitations are lack-luster it could detract from the whole event.  Fortunately, adding a little oomph to your invitations isn’t rocket science.  I’m going to outline five easy ways to add some wow factor to your wedding invitations.

Custom Art

Adding some custom art like a linework drawing or a watercolor painting of your venue is a great way to make your invitations unique.  Although it can be a bit of an investment, it creates a special experience for your guests to get a little glimpse at the day to come.  They’ll know your wedding day is something to look forward to and remember.

Luxury printing

Luxury printing like thermography, letterpress, and gold foil effortlessly take any invitation up a level. These create a visual and tactile experience that adds another dimension to your invitations and is sure to impress any invitee.

Embellishments

Embellishments are the easiest way to enhance any invitation and works with any budget.  There are endless embellishments or accessories you can add-on to your invites to bring out your personality.  Some of my favorites are wax seals and silk ribbons.  You can read more about my favorite embellishments here.

Insert Cards

There’s a wide variety of insert cards that can create a better experience for your guests.  This could be a details card, with all your travel and accommodations information, or schedule, if you have a full day of events planned.  Another common one is an artistic map of the area where you can highlight any attractions and give guests a visual idea of the distance from the wedding venue to the reception.

White Ink Printing

White ink printing is my favorite way to elevate simple invitations.  It adds a modern flair to minimal, text based invitations.  It also looks amazing on envelopes and will make sure your guests won’t miss it in their stack of mail!

As you can see, there are so many ways to enhance your wedding invitations. Many of them work together to create complex layers in your invite suite.
